Marat Khusnullin continued his working trip to control the construction of railway facilities at BAM.
The Deputy Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev and the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, inspected the section of the Hani – Tynda railway in the Amur Region. As part of the government’s plan to modernize the Eastern range of railways, more than 100 km of second tracks have already been commissioned on this section. In total, by 2025, the double-track traffic will be built on 7 tracks and 14 crossings will be opened. This will increase the carrying capacity of the section to 54 million tons.
During the trip, Marat Khusnullin took part in the opening ceremony of the newly built second track of the Kutykan – Kuvykta stretch. On the stretch of 21 km, 19 artificial structures were erected, including 9 bridges, one of which, 465 m long, over the Kovanta River. The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the railway workers and thanked them for their systematic and high-quality work.
The delegation also got acquainted with the construction progress of the second tracks on the Unkur-Chilchi stretch of 36 km. Their commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2021.
The first stage of modernization of the Eastern range of “Russian Railways” is nearing completion. The second stage has entered an active phase. As a result of his working trip around the BAM, Marat Khusnullin gave a positive assessment of the fulfillment of the task. “I am very satisfied with the results of the trip. We have traveled more than 2 thousand km by train, more than 200 km have flown by helicopter – I see that work has been launched everywhere, good pace has been gained, ”the Deputy Prime Minister summed up. He added that his plans in the near future include a discussion with the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolayev of the third stage of construction, which will allow him to fulfill the instructions of President Vladimir Putin on the development of the Yakut cluster.
The government plan to improve the Eastern range of railways is aimed at increasing the country’s transit potential and the growth of the Russian economy. BAM provides access to economically efficient natural resource deposits. The development of railway lines will increase the volume of their supplies to the east.
