The SberTroyka project and the Moscow Transport application received a prestigious award in the field of ticket solutions.
Two projects Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Moscowbecame the winners of the prestigious international award in the field of ticket solutions Transport Ticketing Awards 2021. The Moscow Transport app won in the Best MaaS Initiative nomination, beating competitors from the USA (Nevada) and Monaco. The SberTroyka project was recognized as the winner in the Best Smart Ticketing Program nomination. Its goal is to integrate the Moscow ticket system based on the Troika card into the regions of Russia. Moscow’s rivals in this category were companies from Singapore and Australia.
Experts have noted the high level of Moscow’s ticket system for the second year in a row. In 2020, as a separate project, the Troika card was included in the list of finalists in the Best Technology nomination, and thanks to this year’s victory it was re-recognized at the international level.
“The best ticket system has been created in the capital. Moscow is the number one city in the world in terms of the number of convenient payment methods. Soon the concept of mobility as a service (MaaS) will appear in the Moscow transport application – the service will start working this year and will unite different transport in Moscow, which will further increase the mobility and comfort of Muscovites. Today, passengers in the capital’s transport have about 10 payment methods. The most popular is the Troika card, which accounts for about 90 percent of trips. Thanks to the optimization of the ticket system, passengers are eight times less likely to buy tickets from ground transport drivers. In addition, this allowed to reduce the queues at the metro ticket offices by 40 percent.
Since November last year, Troika has become personalized. Now it can be linked in the personal account of the application“My Moscow”, And in case of loss of the card – transfer all funds to a new one. There you can also set up auto-replenishment of the balance and a reminder of its decrease.
More than 30 million cards have been issued in Moscow since 2013 “Troika”.
