Employees of the interregional department of psychological work of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the psychological service of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Rostov region and correctional institutions of the region took part in the webinar “Prevention of auto-aggressive behavior among suspects, accused and convicted.” The assistant to the head of the GUFSIN for organizing work with believers, Priest Alexander Kushnir, also took part in the seminar.

The head of the center for crisis psychology, a member of the Public Council of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, Mikhail Khasminsky, discussed with the specialists of the department the issues of preventing suicidal behavior of convicts and persons in custody. Preventive conversations with convicts are conducted not only by psychologists of institutions, but also by clergy who take care of the parishioners of churches in the colonies. Alexander Kushnir noted that he regularly conducts conversations with convicts, reminding them that suicide is one of the most serious sins against God and oneself.

Such events help psychologists of the penitentiary system to master broader techniques and advanced methods of modern psychological science in the field of prevention and prevention of suicides among convicts and persons in custody.
