Cadets of the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School are assisting in the construction of a protective dam along the embankment of the Amur and Zeya rivers. The structures are being built to prevent flooding of the city of Blagoveshchensk in the Amur Region from flood waters.

To minimize the consequences of the flood, at the request of the city administration, the school leadership decided to involve the school cadets for the construction of protective structures. The cadets fill the bags with a clay-sand mixture, after which they put them on the edge of the embankment in several layers.

In total, it is planned to strengthen about 6 kilometers of the embankment in areas of probable flooding and to pack about 20 thousand bags. To date, about 7 thousand bags have already been laid, and a dam about two kilometers long has been built.

About 300 military personnel of the school and over 10 pieces of equipment were involved in the work.

Servicemen of the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School took an active part in measures to prevent and eliminate the consequences of floods in the region in 2013 and 2019.
