In the Memorial Museum of A.N. Scriabin will host a concert “Romances of the XX century”. Alexander Berezhny (baritone) and Maria Petrosyan (soprano) will perform rarely performed romances by Russian composers of the first half of the 20th century. Concertmaster – Ekaterina Fominykh.

Presumably, the genre of romance became known in Russia in the second half of the 18th century and came to our country from France. During that period, Russian composers wrote many vocal miniatures based on the verses of French authors. Alexander Alyabyev, Alexander Varlamov, Alexander Gurilev and Peter Bulakhov are considered the founders of the Russian romance. And in the twentieth century, composers have not lost interest in this genre. The romances of Reingold Glier, Yuri Shaporin, Nikolai Myaskovsky, Dmitry Shostakovich, Sergei Prokofiev and Georgy Sviridov became especially popular.
