MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –
The academic year ended at the Secondary School of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Jewish Autonomous Region. General education certificates were received by graduates of an educational institution operating in the Birobidzhan educational colony.
The solemn ceremony of handing over the documents took place on the territory of the regime institution at the memorial stone. The event was timed to coincide with a significant date – the day of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, in memory of those graduates who left school in 1941 to defend their homeland.
For the first time in the history of the school, all 11th grade students chose the USE format and successfully passed the tests. The school director Natalya Korgina spoke about the preparation for exams and the activities of the educational organization:
– This academic year, the school had six grades from 6 to 11 and a correctional class. The curriculum was drawn up taking into account all the characteristics of the children and provided training according to the programs of basic and secondary general education in full-time and part-time forms, extracurricular activities and extracurricular activities. During the year, schoolchildren received knowledge, high school students prepared for final exams, attended additional consultations. As a result, all eleventh graders passed the minimum threshold for planning admission to higher educational institutions. 11 graduates completed their studies and received educational documents. Of these, three certificates of basic general education, seven certificates of secondary general education and one certificate of training in adaptive programs. All exams were passed under the conditions of an independent examination.
As for school life, I can note the rich, bright and interesting joint activity of teachers and juvenile convicts. In the past year, teachers structured their work in such a way that all students and inmates of the penitentiary institution actively participated in school activities, everyone could find a scope for their interests and talents. We attracted new partners, organized the participation of pupils in competitions and Olympiads.
Students were actively involved in search and research activities, prepared projects, collections of materials and presented them at the school, regional and national levels. Two projects were recognized as the best in interregional departmental competitions. The school theater studio “Expressia” continued its work, delighting the audience with new performances. On the basis of the library, a lecture group was created from among the students who conducted thematic conversations in the classrooms. A workshop for the production of postcards, handicrafts and souvenirs was actively working. The products were presented at personal school exhibitions, in creative competitions of various levels and became winners and prize-winners. The school television studio prepared videos for participation in competitions and received high marks from the jury.
The school museum deserves special attention, which attracted the attention of children interested in volunteering. Volunteers prepared and conducted excursions for newly arrived students and guests of the school, organized actions to clean up the memorial site on the territory of the colony, and replenished museum funds with new materials. The school volunteer corps “Heirs of Victory” became the winner in the regional competition of social projects “Volunteer Summer”.
In order to instill interest in intellectual activity, the school traditionally held subject weeks of philological, mathematical, socio-historical, natural sciences, within which open lessons and extracurricular classes in subjects were held, contests and projects were organized.
