25 billion rubles will be allocated for the treatment of citizens who have been diagnosed with a new coronavirus infection. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Funding will go to regional budgets within 30 days. The Obligatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) was appointed responsible for the transfer of funds.

As reported in time of visiting the Moscow hospital No. 40 in Kommunarka Mikhail Mishustin, the source of financing was the unallocated balances of the MHIF funds. Thanks to the previously prepared regulatory framework, it was possible to quickly decide on additional support for the regions against the background of the spread of COVID-19, he stressed.

“At least 700 thousand hospitalizations for covid will be carried out at the expense of these funds. People will continue to receive treatment completely free of charge – under the compulsory medical insurance policy – in all regions of the country, ”the Prime Minister said at a meeting of the Coordination Council to combat the spread of coronavirus on June 25.

An order is also being prepared for signing on the allocation of 25 billion rubles for the provision of specialized and high-tech medical care by federal medical organizations. The source for the tranche was also the unallocated balances of the MHIF funds.
