Today in Vladivostok, the third graduation of students of the branch of the Nakhimov Naval School (NVMU) (Vladivostok Presidential Cadet School) took place.
To emphasize the solemnity of the event, by the decision of the commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergei Avakyants, the ceremony was held on the parade ground of the Pacific Fleet’s pier on Korabelnaya Naberezhnaya, where the warships are moored.
Deputy Commander of the Pacific Fleet Vice Admiral Denis Berezovsky, Governor of the Primorsky Territory Oleg Kozhemyako, the leadership of the regional legislative assembly, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the Armed Forces, clergymen, parents of the Nakhimovites arrived to congratulate the graduates.
50 Nakhimov residents received certificates of education and signs of graduates. Five of them graduated with honors. Vice-Admiral Denis Berezovsky and Oleg Kozhemyako presented the graduates with educational documents and congratulated them on successful graduation from the Vladivostok NVMU.
Almost 90% of the children plan to continue their studies at the higher naval educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense, including the Pacific Higher Naval School named after Admiral S.O. Makarov.
The solemn ceremony ended with the general passage of the Nakhimovites under the flag of the school.
After the completion of the official celebrations, graduates and guests of the holiday had the opportunity to visit the large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Tributs”, where an excursion was organized for them.
Vladivostok Presidential Cadet School was established in 2013. The educational institution is located on the same territory with the Pacific Higher Naval School named after V.I. S.O. Makarov. In 2016, “Vladivostok PKU” was attached to the Nakhimov Naval School, becoming its branch. The regular number of students is 560 pupils. The head of the NVMU branch is Rear Admiral Vladimir Burakov.
