In the Barents Sea, the crew of the large landing ship (BDK) of the Northern Fleet “Georgy Pobedonosets” completed the tasks of amphibious assault training and fire support of the landing. The exercise was carried out in cooperation with the Marine Corps, which loaded military equipment and personnel onto the ship from the shore.

After the ship moved to the Middle Peninsula, the Marines in 16 armored personnel carriers landed on the unequipped coast. The servicemen worked out the landing of equipment afloat and the seizure of the bridgehead.

The combat crews of the twin 57-mm artillery mounts of the Georgy the Pobedonosets large landing craft fired at coastal, sea and air targets, repelling the attack on the ship and suppressing the firing points of the conditional enemy on the coast.

Upon completion of the amphibious assault training, the crew took part in an exercise on anti-underwater sabotage defense of the ship during anchorage in an unprotected roadstead with practical grenade throwing.

Earlier, the crews of the new large landing ships “Ivan Gren” and “Pyotr Morgunov” worked out educational tasks for amphibious assault training with personnel and equipment of the Northern Fleet marines.
