On June 25, a joint training session was held for duty shifts of defense departments and ministries of emergency situations of the CSTO member states, during which the actions of duty shifts in an incident on the state border of one of the CSTO member states in the Central Asian region were practiced. According to the plan of the training, the emergency situation developed as a result of the actions of terrorists and was accompanied by a large-scale spill of an accidentally hazardous chemical substance, which required the prompt involvement of rescue units.
Representatives of the CSTO Crisis Response Center, the Central Command Post (National Defense Control Center) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Crisis Response Center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation and the Control Center of the Ministry of Defense Republic of Tajikistan. For the first time in this work, the operational duty shifts of the ministries of emergency situations of the CSTO member states of the Central Asian region took part.
The head of the CSTO Crisis Response Center, Major General Arsen Rakhmanov, summing up the results of the training, noted that the actions of the duty shifts in identifying emergencies were worked out in real time in accordance with the algorithms of the duty shifts. The exchange of information between the organs involved in training has been successfully carried out, the time indicators of the algorithms for the work of the duty shifts in the event of crisis situations have been specified.
