Employees and veterans of the medical service of the Southern Military District (YuVO) celebrated the 80th anniversary of the 1602nd military clinical hospital of the Russian Ministry of Defense, located in Rostov-on-Don.
In the garrison officers’ house, the honoring of doctors, medical personnel of the hospital, everyone who, with their knowledge, professionalism, and mercy, helps Russian servicemen, members of their families, and veterans in recovery, took place.
More than 100 employees received state and departmental awards. Also, the artists of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Southern Military District congratulated the doctors with a festive concert.
The 1602nd Military Clinical Hospital of the Southern Military District is one of the oldest medical institutions in Russia. Currently, the medical institution has more than 30 specialized medical departments, through which about 15 thousand patients pass annually. The total bed capacity with the branches of the hospital is 1140 beds and more than 2 thousand medical specialists.
The multifunctional medical center of the hospital has become the center of the fight against an invisible enemy – a new coronavirus infection. The experience of the doctors of the YuVO hospital in the fight against COVID-19 was also required outside Russia – in April 2020, a combined detachment went to provide assistance to the residents of Serbia and Italy. For three months of the mobile hospital’s operation, doctors have provided assistance to more than 2 thousand patients.
Today, the military clinical hospital is a multidisciplinary specialized medical institution designed to provide qualified and specialized medical care to the wounded and sick, conduct examinations, treatment and rehabilitation. The hospital provides assistance for severe injuries and illnesses that require an integrated approach and the use of complex treatment methods.
