At seven training ranges of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in Rostov and Volgograd regions, Crimea, North Ossetia, Dagestan, Stavropol and Kuban, a special exercise was held on a single plan with electronic warfare (EW) units.

EW units worked out the tasks of electronic destruction of radio communication lines in various ranges, inflicted electronic strikes on control points and communication centers of the imaginary enemy, including control channels and data transmission of small unmanned aerial vehicles.

The specialists also fulfilled the standards for the deployment of electronic warfare systems and their camouflage, organized security and defense, and suppressed the signals of radio-controlled landmines and mines.

To accomplish the tasks, the newest EW systems “Krasukha” and “Borisoglebsk”, the automated EW complex HF radio communication “Murmansk”, the newest unique mobile complexes “Leer-3” based on the KamAZ vehicle, and automated jamming stations “Zhitel” were used.

More than 800 servicemen of the Southern Military District took part in the exercise, about 200 units of military and special equipment were involved.
