A patriotic action was held in the branch of the All-Russian Scientific Center of the Navy “Naval Academy” in Kaliningrad. This year is special – the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Together with the leadership and students of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, the command and cadets of the branch took part in a rally at the monument to the twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Soviet Union A.M. Vasilevsky. The rector of the IKBFU addressed the cadets and students – the descendants of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. I. Kant Alexander Fedorov and deputy head of the branch for military-political work Captain 1st Rank Yuri Gorin.

A minute of silence was announced to the song “Cranes”. The sad and heartbreaking text of the song “Cranes” is considered a kind of hymn to all Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Cadets and students laid flowers at the monument to the great commander.

On this day, the cadets of the branch – servicemen of the special department laid flowers at the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union, Captain 3rd Rank A.I. Marinesko, a monument to the Baltic sailors, a monument to Soviet soldiers who died in the storming of the fortress city of Konigsberg.

In the fundamental library of the branch, captain of the 2nd rank (retired) Gennady Krasavina spoke to the cadets on the topic “Books about the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, as one of the foundations of educating the country’s patriots.”

In the church named after the righteous warrior Admiral Theodor Ushakov on the territory of the branch, Father Oleg Khatsko held a prayer service for the soldiers who died for the Fatherland.

In Russia, on this day, they remember everyone who bravely met the enemy on the western borders of the Motherland and who fought heroically at the fronts, giving their strength to defeat the aggressor.
