There are children’s technology parks, centers of youth innovative creativity, children’s art schools, music schools, sports clubs and libraries in the capital.

The Moscow government creates an environment of continuous development for the youth of the capital. It brings together all key areas – from creative and vocational education, as well as sports training to entrepreneurship programs, career guidance, employment assistance and much more.

“Moscow creates an environment of continuous development for young people from childhood. Human capital is the most valuable asset of any metropolis. And it’s not just about professionalism and skills. Positive and modern thinking, openness to the world, continuous movement forward are of great importance. Even the most disruptive technologies are, after all, the result of the work of talented people. The main source of the city’s development is precisely the people, ”said the deputy mayor

Natalia Sergunina.

The population of Moscow, according to official figures, is 12.5 million people. About three million of them are young people between the ages of 14 and 35, and this is about every fourth, the deputy mayor emphasized. More than 900 thousand students of universities and secondary specialized educational institutions study in the capital.

According to Natalia Sergunina, the city takes care of youth employment. So, in the educational complex “Technograd”a career development center operates at VDNKh. Professional career consultants help everyone in finding a job: they tell you how to write a resume correctly and successfully pass an interview, how to present your strengths to employers.

Since 2017, the Moscow Government has been conducting a voluntary qualification exam… It allows aspiring professionals to test their knowledge and find a good job or paid internship. For four years more than 20 thousand students have passed it. The best of them received offers from large companies. Today the project is supported by more than 300 universities and almost 70 companies.

In addition, an online platform was created at the initiative of youth “In Work”… More than 200 partner companies have connected to it, and the number of resumes added exceeds three thousand.

In order to continue to compete on equal terms with the world’s leading megacities, Moscow focuses on programs for realizing talents from school and even earlier. All the key elements of the personal and professional development ecosystem have been formed. It includes children’s technology parks and youth innovative creativity centers, art schools and music schools, creative centers, sports clubs, libraries, and diverse patriotic, volunteer and educational projects.

There are 140 children’s art schools in the capital. It is the largest network of additional creative education in the world. Since 2018, the Moscow Government has been implementing the “Art for Children” project, in which the buildings of art schools with a total area of more than 250 thousand square meters will be renovated.

Another unique opportunity for the younger generation is education in children’s technoparks from a young age. There are already 18 of them in the city. Children can choose an interesting direction for themselves from a variety of options. Among the areas presented are information technology, robotics, microelectronics, 3D modeling, new materials, auto and aircraft design, natural sciences and much more.

Training takes place within the framework of intensive courses and project work, as well as in the format of lectures, master classes, educational games and quests. Educational programs are prepared jointly with leading universities and companies in the city. The partners of the technoparks are large Russian and international organizations.

Beginning entrepreneurs are invited to the Business Weekend educational program. They explain to the audience how to draw up a business plan, attract clients, talk about the basic financial and legal aspects of entrepreneurial activity. The project was launched three years ago. Since then, more than 119 thousand high school students and students have become its participants.

Moscow is actively helping startups. Most often, it is young people who develop them. Technology contests, acceleration programs and hackathons, webinars and trainings on creating and scaling small businesses are held for startups. On the portal of the Moscow Innovation Cluster I. moskov information is available about the entire innovative infrastructure of the city, including coworking spaces, collective use centers, technology parks, and measures to support technology business.

In the field of youth policy in the capital, there are about 1,500 non-profit organizations (NPO). In 2020, 43 such NGOs received grants from the Mayor of Moscow in the category “Youth of Moscow”, their total amount amounted to 90 million rubles. The Moscow Government supports both public projects in this area and the initiatives of the youth communities themselves. In particular, the platform “VRabote”, launched almost a year ago with the participation of the city, shows good results. She helps students find employment.

“The employment process is simplified as much as possible and takes place online. 200 organizations offer their vacancies, about a third of them are large Russian and international companies. The platform is used by students from 98 universities, ”said project manager Amir Sarakov.

Another project, Moscow Dialogue, unites young people into a community of like-minded people, where everyone develops competencies that are useful in practice, be it time management or public speaking skills.

“The Moscow Dialogue is attended by 10,000 students from 30 Moscow universities. We hold meetings in the format of a dialogue on equal terms with famous people – specialists in their fields. We have a Debate School and other formats. Now you can join our events online, ”said the project leader Evgenia Shavkun.
