On Saturday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu took part in the ceremony of the first graduation from the revived Tula Suvorov Military School (TSVU) and handed over its historical banner to the pre-university institution of the military department.

“Today I want to give you a historical relic for eternal storage – the banner of the first Tula Suvorovites. These were the guys scorched by the war, the blockade, the sons of the regiment, the heroes-partisans who found a home and family here. Let this banner become a symbol of the Suvorov brotherhood and the continuity of all generations of school graduates, ”Shoigu said.

The Minister of Defense congratulated the graduates on the festive day, presented them with certificates of secondary complete education and badges on graduation from an educational institution. The solemn ceremony was attended by the governor of the Tula region Alexei Dyumin.

Also, the cadets and guests of the celebration were shown a video congratulation of Lev Bimbirekov, a graduate of the first enrollment of the 1944 school.

This is the first graduation of Suvorovites in Tula after, in accordance with the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2016, TSVU, disbanded in September 1960, was revived. The specialists of the Military Construction Complex erected a complex of buildings of the institution “from scratch” in four months. On September 8, 2016, the grand opening of the school took place, which was attended by the President of the Russian Federation, the Minister of Defense of Russia, the Governor of the Tula Region.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, 63 graduates studied in the eleventh grades of TSVU. All have successfully completed the course of science. Six Suvorovites were awarded medals “For Special Achievements in Teaching.”

TVSU was formed on the basis of the decree of the State Defense Committee of the USSR dated July 4, 1944. On November 7, 1944, the grand opening of the school took place. On November 8, 1944, the school was awarded the banner.

Among the first set of Suvorovs were 83 boys from besieged Leningrad, more than 30 sons of the regiment and young partisans, many of whom were awarded orders and medals. The first graduation of the Suvorovites took place in 1949. In the period from 1949 to 1960. 12 graduations were carried out, 875 people graduated from the school.

In September 1960 TSVU was disbanded.

After the decision was made to revive the school, from March to September 2016, a three-story educational and administrative building with an assembly hall was erected and put into operation, connected by a warm passage from the canteen for 620 seats and with the building of additional education. Two four-storey dormitories were built, each with 160 beds, a dormitory with 240 beds.

TSVU has 46 classrooms equipped with the most modern technical means, three language laboratories, specialized classrooms-laboratories of physics, chemistry, biology, computer science. The library of the school includes a subscription and a reading room of fiction and educational literature, an electronic reading room, a book depository. The school has a learning management system LMS-school. Additional education of students is carried out according to programs of the following directions: technical, natural science, tourism and local history, social and pedagogical, artistic, physical culture and sports. Pupils are engaged in aircraft modeling, robotics, car business, music, dance, chess, photography and video filming. Suvorovites attend classes in swimming, ice hockey, sambo, boxing, army hand-to-hand fighting, orienteering, bullet shooting, etc.

The school has indoor sports complexes with a swimming pool and ice rink, with gymnastics, games and gyms. There are facilities for playing sports, a stadium with a football field and a tribune for 620 seats, an open area with exercise equipment; shooting gallery; an airborne complex for preparing students for a jump, other infrastructure.
