In the Moscow region, at the Golovenki training ground, servicemen of the Kantemirovskaya tank division of the Western Military District celebrated the 79th anniversary of the formation of the formation with a large-scale exercise.

During the exercise, the crews of the T-80U tanks conducted live firing from 125-mm smooth-bore guns at targets imitating the armored vehicles of a conventional enemy. The tankers fired quickly at the advancing enemy at a distance of 1000 to 2000 meters.

The actions of the tankers were covered by motorized rifle units. Crews of infantry fighting vehicles (BMP) with dense fire from 30-mm automatic cannons BMP-2 destroyed the enemy’s manpower. Motorized riflemen fired in short bursts at dynamic targets at a distance of 800 to 1500 meters.

The servicemen of the reconnaissance units overcame a special obstacle course – “Scout’s Trail”, both in groups of 10 people, and individually. The Scout’s Trail includes over 30 obstacles: stone walls, suspension bridges, barbed wire fences.

In total, more than 1,000 servicemen and over 350 units of weapons, military and special equipment of the Kantemirovskaya division of the Western Military District were involved in the exercise to mark the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Kantemirovsk division.
