In the Baltic Sea, the crews of the Soobrazitelny and Steregushchy corvettes, in cooperation with the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter of the naval aviation of the fleet, worked out the tasks of finding, detecting and destroying a simulated enemy submarine.

During the planned launch into the sea, the crews of the Soobrazitelny and Steregushchy corvettes performed a number of training and combat missions in the sea ranges of the Baltic Fleet. In cooperation with the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter, the crews of the corvettes worked out joint anti-submarine actions – they conducted exercises to search, detect and destroy a submarine with the conditional use of anti-submarine weapons.

According to the legend of the exercise, in the concentration area of one of the ship groupings of the Baltic Fleet there is a mock enemy submarine, whose crew was tasked with destroying the ships of the group. The role of a simulated enemy submarine was performed by a Varshavyanka-class diesel-electric submarine, one of the quietest submarines.

For the prompt solution of the task at hand, corvettes and an anti-submarine helicopter of the Ka-27 naval aviation fleet were sent to the indicated square. The helicopter, having performed the element of “hovering” over the water surface and using hydroacoustic means of anti-submarine detection, detected the target and transmitted the coordinates of the submarine to the crews of the corvettes of the Baltic Fleet.

After that, the discovered submarine was conditionally destroyed by the torpedo armament of the corvettes.

In addition to anti-submarine operations, the crews of the corvettes also performed the tasks of repelling attacks from a simulated enemy from the air.
