The saber fencer tournament in Arzamas ended with a mixed teams competition. Each team consisted of two women and two men.
The winner was a quartet called “Team-2”, which included: world and European champion, winner of the World War Games Sergeant Olga Nikitina, two-time world and European champion, winner of the World Cup stages Sofia Pozdnyakova, Dmitry Danilenko and Veniamin Reshetnikov. In the final battle with a score of 40:39, they defeated the Russia-1 team, which included an Olympic champion, two-time Olympic silver medalist, winner of the VII World War Games, multiple World and European champion, multiple winner of the World Cup stages, Captain Sofya Velikaya, Svetlana Sheveleva, two-time world and European champion, winner of the VII World War Games, winner and medalist of the CISM world championships, two-time winner of the Universiade Senior Lieutenant Kamil Ibragimov, four-time world champion among juniors, winner and medalist of the VII World War Games Sergeant Konstantin Lokhanov.
In the fight for the third place, the victory was won by the Russia-3 team (winner of the junior World Cup stage, the winner of the Russian Cup Alina Mikhailova, Evgenia Podpaskova, the winner of the European Youth Championship Anatoly Kostenko, Ilya Motorin), which left no chances to the Azerbaijan-4 team (Anna Bashta, Valeria Bolshakova, warrant officer Alexander Trushakov, winner of the Youth Games, two-time winner of the Russian Cup army player Vasily Shirshov), with a score of 40:38.
A total of 12 teams took part in the competition.
