The destroyer of the Northern Fleet “Admiral Ushakov” worked out firing with batteries of universal caliber at air, coastal and sea targets.

The exercise took place in accordance with the ship’s combat training plan in the Barents Sea near the coast of the Kola Peninsula. The combat exercise area was closed in advance to civilian shipping and aviation.

The destroyer went to sea at the beginning of the week after completing the basic training cycle. At sea ranges, the ship worked out maneuvering and testing of technical means of communication, navigation and radar weapons, carried out a passage through a conventionally mined water area to provide basic minesweepers for the formation of protection of the water area of ​​the Kola Flotilla of diverse forces.

The destroyer Admiral Ushakov is part of the largest surface formation of the Russian Navy – the missile ship division, along with the flagship of the Northern Fleet – the heavy nuclear missile cruiser Peter the Great and the new frigates Admiral of the Soviet Union Fleet Gorshkov and Admiral Kasatonov.

The destroyer has powerful artillery weapons – two paired 130-mm artillery mounts, as well as anti-ship and anti-aircraft missile systems.
