Servicemen of the engineer regiment of the combined-arms army of the Western Military District, stationed in the Leningrad Region, in the course of a comprehensive training, carried out the extraction and purification of more than 300 cubic meters of water in the field.

Engineers made a march on standard equipment to the designated area, deployed mobile stations for complex water purification and desalination SKO-10/5 and military filtering stations VFS-10, equipped areas for water supply and preparation of chemical reagents.

In the course of the activities carried out, engineers surveyed more than 15 km2 of the landfill for the presence of various natural water sources and equipment for access roads to them.

In total, more than 80 servicemen and about 20 units of special equipment were involved in the comprehensive training of the personnel of the crews of the extraction and water treatment stations of the engineering and sapper units.

Complex water treatment plants SKO-10/5 are capable of purifying and disinfecting water from natural pollution, mechanical particles, ferric iron, toxic substances, radionuclides, bacteria and viruses. The station includes water purification and desalination units, electric pumps and auxiliary equipment.
