In order to popularize the manufactured products and increase production volumes, the management of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol organized an exhibition and fair event of the production potential of the subordinate correctional institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol on the territory of the correctional colony of Simferopol.
Andrey Kachan, Deputy Head of the Regional Penitentiary Department, presented information on the possibilities of purchasing goods, works or services in correctional institutions, as from the only supplier, spoke about positive examples of interaction with the Crimean administrations on the production of MSW containers, stopping pavilions, and sewing flags for the needs of municipalities.
It should be noted that the range of products is quite diverse. The exhibition presented: containers for MSW, metal fences and barriers, metal doors, gratings with cold forging elements, sports horizontal bars, swings, park benches, wooden containers (pallets, bread patches, boxes for seedlings, etc.), park gazebos, tables, sewing and souvenir products.
The exhibition was visited by: Sergei Diyuk – President of the Union “Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Crimea”, Natalya Gordetskaya – President of the NGO “Association” Chamber of Folk Arts and Crafts of the Republic of Crimea, Denis Popko – Director of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Krymekoresursy”, representatives of the Ministry of Industrial Policy, Ministry of Construction and architecture, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development, and representatives of the business community. Each of the participants could ask questions of interest to them and get answers from the leaders.
The exhibition acted as a business platform and provided an opportunity to expand sales markets, find new suppliers, discuss topical issues of developing production potential, establish and strengthen business partnerships. The guests of the exhibition noted the interest in cooperation with correctional institutions, many of them for the first time learned about the wide range of products, the opportunity to carry out joint projects and involve convicts in the manufacture of their products. Everyone who wished received catalogs with a full range and descriptions of products manufactured by correctional institutions.
As a result of the exhibition, contracts were concluded with the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Krymekoresursy” for the manufacture of containers for separate collection, which will additionally attract up to 30 convicts to work.
