On June 25, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin had a telephone conversation with Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ireland S. Highland on her initiative.

An exchange of views was held on the situation in Syria with an emphasis on solving urgent humanitarian problems, including the delivery of humanitarian aid, which Ireland and Norway informally supervise in the UN Security Council. The Russian side reaffirmed the need to comply with the guiding principles of humanitarian assistance enshrined in UN General Assembly Resolution 46/182 and respect for the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the SAR, in accordance with the existing UN Security Council resolutions, including UNSC 2254 and 2533.
