Preparations have begun on the ships of the Baltic Fleet for the parade of ships and the military sports festival in honor of the Day of the Russian Navy, which is traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of July. This year, naval sailors will celebrate their professional holiday on July 25.

More than 30 warships, submarines, boats and support vessels will be involved in the naval display.

During the military sports festival, residents and guests of Baltiysk will be able to see the performance of more than 10 combat training exercises: the destruction of a minefield with contact sweeps by a naval sweeping group, a search for a simulated enemy submarine using a ship’s helicopter, a missile strike and a strike on the imaginary enemy ships, naval artillery battle, the landing of airborne assault groups of the forward detachment of the amphibious assault, the exit of the BTR-82 afloat and other episodes.

An exhibition of samples of military equipment, weapons and means of engineering support for the fleet will be displayed on the Baltic Glory Square.

During July, the seamen of the Baltic Fleet will hold private and general training sessions for the naval parade and military sports festival. On July 22, a dress rehearsal of the solemn event will be held.
