The Department of the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments in the Yaroslavl Region hosted an annual Conference that brought together young professionals, the best mentors serving in the penal system of the region, as well as the chairman and members of the regional branch of the Public Organization of Veterans of the Penitentiary System.
The event was attended by the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Yaroslavl Region, Colonel of the Internal Service Yevgeny Popov, Deputy Head of the Directorate, Colonel of the Internal Service Alexander Stepanishchev, Chairman of the Public Council at the Federal Penitentiary Service, Sergey Talanov, representatives of psychological, educational services and the inspection on personnel and anti-corruption of the penal system area.
With a welcoming speech about the importance of mentoring, high-quality training and patriotic education of the young generation of employees, the deputy head of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Colonel of the Internal Service, Alexander Stepanishchev, addressed the audience, who brought to the young employees the structure of the region’s penitentiary department, the main goals and objectives for the coming time, and wished everyone to become real professionals in their field.
– Being a mentor is not an easy, time-consuming business, coupled with a great emotional load, – said the deputy head of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Colonel of the Internal Service Alexander Stepanishchev. – The main thing is that young employees are responsible, understand the importance and seriousness of their work, show initiative and learn from more experienced specialists.
Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service Sergei Talanov delivered a lecture “Mentoring in improving the quality of work with the personnel of the penal system”. He spoke about the advantages of mentoring over other means and methods of education. He cited data on sociological research on the problems of patronage conducted in some regions at the Federal Penitentiary Service. I spent a lot of time motivating the mentor. At the end of the report, he gave a number of advice and recommendations to his sponsors and mentors.
Colonel of the Internal Service Vyacheslav Korotkikh, head of the interregional department of information and technical support for psychological work of the UFSIN, conducted a psychological training “Psychology of Service Activity” with young employees and their mentors.
The head of the inspectorate for personnel and anti-corruption of the regional UFSIN, Major of the Internal Service Tatyana Eremeeva, told the audience about the prevention of corruption offenses, the principles of official conduct, paying special attention to motivating employees to anti-corruption behavior. And also in order to form an intolerant attitude of employees of institutions and bodies of the penal system to corruption manifestations, expanding the forms and methods of educational work, she showed videos of the winners of the “I am a law-abiding employee” competition.
An increased interest in the program of the event was given to cadets and young employees who made reports on the passage of industrial practice and on the results of training during the probationary period in the institutions of the penitentiary system of the region.
The chairman of the regional veteran organization, Yuri Kuvaev, addressed the veterans of the penitentiary system with an order from the veterans, wishing the young generation to respect their colleagues in the service and show justice in relation to convicts, suspects and accused, constantly study regulatory documents, engage in self-education, not be afraid of difficulties , serve honestly, never collude with conscience, be loyal and worthy successors of traditions laid down by more than one generation of employees, worthily defend the laws, interests and rights of citizens on guard of our state.
At the end of the event, the head of the department, Colonel of the Internal Service, Yevgeny Popov, wished the young employees success in their service, honorably bearing the rank of officer of the penal system, and also being worthy followers of their mentors and veterans. In addition, he congratulated the veterans of the penal system Olga Georgievna Volkova and Yuri Nikolaevich Kuvaev on the past anniversaries.
