The personnel of the humanitarian demining unit of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continue work on the destruction of explosive objects found on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Explosive items found by the demining group, belonging to the first category of danger after being transported to the destruction site, are destroyed by explosive method,” said a serviceman of the humanitarian demining unit Vladislav Kelzin.

Every day at a special training ground “Ballydzha” Russian servicemen destroy about 30 explosive objects, including mines and artillery shells of various calibers. Destruction is carried out by the detonation method with the provision of all necessary safety measures during blasting operations.

The ammunition destroyed by Russian sappers the day before was found during demining in the Martuni region.

In total, since November 23, 2020, 2,148 hectares of territory, more than 657 kilometers of roads have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, 1,892 buildings have been inspected by sappers. Found and neutralized 25 640 explosive objects.

About 10 servicemen of the humanitarian demining unit are involved in the work on the disposal of GPs every day.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
