Tankers of the Russian military base of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in Abkhazia will take a course of underwater driving of T-72B3 tanks, which will be held in the Volgograd region at the Prudboy training ground.

They will overcome water obstacles with a length of about 100 m, moving along the bottom of the reservoir at a depth of 5 m. Driver mechanics will work out controlling the tank by instruments in conditions of zero visibility.

Before diving, all servicemen are equipped with individual emergency rescue equipment, and are receiving self-contained breathing apparatus IP-5. These means are designed for free ascent or gradual rise to the surface of the water during the evacuation of the crew in the event of emergency situations.

Before getting admission to underwater driving, tankers undergo diving training, fulfilling the standards at a special training complex, which is a flooded model of a tank.

The practice of underwater driving of T-72B3 tanks at the Prudboy training ground will be given to more than 200 tankmen from the Southern Military District from Abkhazia.
