Servicemen of the separate communications battalion of the Western Military District, stationed in the Voronezh region, have fully completed vaccination against coronavirus infection COVID-19.

Vaccination with the first and second components of the domestic drug “Gam-COVID-Vak” (“Sputnik-V”) was carried out on the basis of a separate electronic warfare battalion of the combined arms army of the Western Military District. All servicemen underwent mandatory testing for the absence of contraindications, preliminary examination and consultation with medical service specialists, and also signed a voluntary consent to the introduction of the drug’s components. After the introduction of each component, the specialists of the separate communications battalion of the Western Military District were under the supervision of doctors for at least 3 days.

The vaccination of signalmen is timed to coincide with the upcoming joint Russian-Belarusian strategic exercise Zapad-2021, during which servicemen will organize and maintain high-quality and continuous space, satellite, digital and radio communications.

In total, over 226,000 servicemen and their families were vaccinated with the first component in the Western Military District, and about 207,000 soldiers, sergeants, warrant officers and officers of the Western Military District were vaccinated in full. More than 10 thousand doses of both components of the vaccine are concentrated in warehouses and medical institutions. In July, it is expected to receive about 45 thousand doses.
