The high award was presented to the veteran by the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Adygea, Colonel of the Internal Service Vitaly Perkhorovich. Last year, Vladimir Avedov celebrated his 85th anniversary, but continues to actively participate in the life of the Department, heading the Public Council.
Vladimir Avedov was born on September 9, 1935, graduated from the Tavdinsky technical school for mechanical processing of wood, worked at the plant. After serving in the army, he entered the Ural Forestry Institute, but was forced to return to the working profession. In 1966 he graduated from the Moscow Forestry Institute as a mechanical engineer. For more than fifteen years he worked at woodworking enterprises – in Anapa, Dnepropetrovsk, Krasnodar and Maykop, where he worked at a furniture association.
In 1973, he – the deputy director of the Krasnodar forestry plant – was sent in order to strengthen personnel to the post of production manager in the Maikop educational labor colony. The colony’s enterprise organized the production of furniture and electrical equipment. In cooperation with the Maykop plant “Tochmash”, the production of automated warehouses was launched, and products for the military industry were produced. Already in 1976, Vladimir Artemovich was appointed deputy head of the colony, in October 1980, he headed the MVTK.
Under his leadership, for two years in a row, the Maikop VTK won the challenge Red Banner of the Main Directorate of the ITU. For the successes achieved in production, operational and service activities, the young head of the institution was nominated for the title of laureate of the Lenin Komsomol. But Vladimir Artemovich does not consider awards and titles his main achievement in the work of the head of the colony, but the fact that many of the boys, each of whom he knew by name, found their way in life, justified his hopes. Among them were engineers and business leaders, journalists and even a writer.
In 1991, Vladimir Avedov was appointed head of the IID and SR of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and after 1996 – the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Russia in the Republic of Adygea. In 1999, Colonel of the Internal Service Vladimir Avedov retired. For many years and conscientious work, he was awarded state awards – the Order of Honor and the Zhukov Medal, medals of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, he was awarded the high title “Honorary Worker of the Penitentiary System”.
For many years he headed the Republican Council of Veterans of the Penitentiary System, the Public Observation Commission for monitoring the provision of human rights in places of detention in the Republic of Adygea. And today his knowledge and experience are in demand – he heads the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Adygea
