Mobile units of the Russian Defense Ministry in Blagoveshchensk and nearby settlements in the Amur Region continue to provide assistance to local residents affected by the emergency caused by flood waters.

To provide assistance, the grouping of the forces of the Eastern Military District was reinforced to 1,520 people and 150 units of automobile and special equipment.

Servicemen of the combined-arms formation of the Eastern Military District, stationed in the Amur Region, and cadets of the Far Eastern Higher Combined-Arms Command School, during the period of work in the settlement of Vladimirovka, erected a dam on the bank of the Zeya River with a length of 300 meters, having laid 5,000 sandbags.

In the village of Grodekovo, a dam with a length of 250 meters was erected and reinforced with 1,570 sandbags.

In the village of Verkhneblagoveshchenskoye, servicemen provide assistance in transporting and evacuating people and their property from flooded areas.

Mobile units perform tasks in cooperation with the interdepartmental operational headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of an emergency, created by the authorities of the Amur Region.

Earlier, the leadership of the Amur Region applied for assistance to the command of the Eastern Military District.

Servicemen of the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School took an active part in measures to prevent and eliminate the consequences of floods in the region in 2013 and 2019.
