The main goals of the event are the prevention of recidivism, raising the cultural and educational level of minors, as well as organizing leisure activities.

The psychological service of the penitentiary inspection of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Kirov region organized a visit to the Museum of Military Glory by convicted minors without isolation from society.

The children visited the exhibition “The Longest Day of the Year”, created to mark the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, where a lecture was held for them on the contribution of the city of Kirov to the victory.

– Children got acquainted with the historical manuscripts, photographs of the natives of the city of Kotelnich, active participants in the defense, the inventory of small arms of the garrison of the Brest Fortress and the peculiarities of the wartime life of the 40s. We learned how the mobilization into the active army took place in Kirov in the first days of the war. The topic of morality and ethics, the severity of the psychological state of people of that time, clearly depicted in the sculpture “Farewell”, was also touched upon. We got acquainted with the activities of the Osoaviakhim organization, which was entrusted with the functions of preparing the population for military service, – said Svetlana Yemets, a psychologist at the Penitentiary Institution of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov region.

The teenagers were shown photographs of the Heroes of the Soviet Union Pavel Skopin and Nikolai Grukhin from Kirov, as well as Semyon Berezin, one of the heroes of the war with Finland.

The excursion ended with an interactive part, where the children were invited to take part in the assembly of historical military weapons, to try on a soldier’s uniform and paraphernalia, which aroused great genuine interest.
