In the year of the 320th anniversary of the Foundation of the Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a number of exposition and exhibition events of a military-patriotic orientation are held. Military-historical exhibition “No one without us!” will be opened on July 1 in Volgograd in the Garrison Officers’ House.
The exhibition will illustrate: the development of equipment for military engineers to perform various tasks, including mine clearance, guidance of crossings, diving operations, assault on fortified objects, etc., a wide range of standard domestic engineering ammunition, as well as samples of improvised explosive devices used by terrorists in the North Caucasus and in the Syrian Arab Republic. In addition, a variety of search and detection tools for explosive objects, etc. will be presented.
In the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora, the exhibition “Karbyshev’s memory is worthy!”, Dedicated to the 320th anniversary of the creation of the engineering troops of Russia, opened on May 21, has completed its work.
The exhibition featured unique exhibits dedicated to the assault engineer-sapper brigades, whose soldiers ensured the swift capture of fortified areas in Europe by Soviet troops during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. A number of previously unpublished documents related to the life and activities of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Lieutenant General of the Engineering Troops D.M. Karbyshev. One of the exhibits presented to visitors was a handwritten version of the Charter of the Red Army at the stage of development with notes by the legendary general.
The history of the domestic engineering troops in art is presented by a series of paintings on the military operation in Syria from the founder of the coffee genre, Yulia Latte, and by the unique photo exhibition “The Afghan Valor of a Sapper” by the engineer troops photographer Aina Ievleva. A number of exhibits were collected by children – students of the school № 354 named. Hero of the Soviet Union D.M. Karbyshev of Moscow. These are the personal belongings of the Hero of the Soviet Union – the creator of the underwater bridge in the battle for the Dnieper – Major General of the Engineering Troops F.P. Harchevina and exhibits from the concentration camp – Mauthausen. During the exhibition, thousands of youth soldiers and cadets from Moscow and the Moscow region, representatives of public organizations and veterans visited it.
In May-June, a mobile exposition on military engineering as part of the military engineering troops crossing “5000 kilometers along the waterways of Russia” visited Nizhny Novgorod, Cheboksary, Kazan, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Saratov, Volgodonsk and many other cities and villages. The presented exhibits were also dedicated to the unique history of the engineering troops of Russia. The account of those who visited the mobile exhibition exceeded tens of thousands.
