The history of the Nevsky Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia begins on June 30, 1936. It was then that the 4th regiment of local air defense was created, which entered the air defense formations of the Leningrad Military District. On July 1, 2000, the regiment was reorganized into the 346th Red Banner Rescue Center named after Lensovet EMERCOM of Russia. It received its modern name, the Nevsky Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia, in August 2014.
During the Great Patriotic War, the regiment’s specialists were engaged in the installation of anti-personnel and anti-tank mines and land mines, erected various engineering structures, took part in the suppression of fires, the transportation of goods along the Road of Life, etc. More than 2,200 opponents were eliminated by the regiment’s snipers.
Already in peacetime, the regiment’s specialists took part in eliminating the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the earthquake in Neftegorsk, delivering humanitarian aid and transporting refugees in the Chechen Republic.
Since the beginning of 2021, the specialists of the Nevsky SC have been involved 467 times in actions as intended. The fire brigade of the center took part in extinguishing 90 man-made fires. The pyrotechnic crew of the rescue center was involved in pyrotechnic operations 21 times, destroying 76 explosive objects in the Leningrad, Pskov and Kaliningrad regions.
Over time the range of works performed by the specialists of the center has expanded… Elimination of the consequences of earthquakes, extinguishing forest and peat fires, aviation accidents and natural disasters, carrying out emergency rescue operations in case of collapsing buildings and in the natural environment, participating in humanitarian convoys, demining territories – this is just an incomplete list of the work performed by the fighters of the center.
In the context of a new coronavirus infection that has spread around the world, disinfection treatment of territories and facilities not only in St. Petersburg, but also in other regions of the North-West of the Russian Federation has been added to these tasks.
Since the beginning of 2021, the specialists of the Nevsky SC have been involved in actions as intended more than 460 times. The fire brigade of the center took part in extinguishing 90 man-made fires. Pyrotechnic calculation – dozens of times involved in pyrotechnic work, destroying more than 70 explosive objects in the Leningrad, Pskov and Kaliningrad regions.
For the high results achieved in combat readiness, professional training, strengthening military discipline and the successful fulfillment of the tasks set by the EMERCOM of Russia, the Nevsky Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia was repeatedly awarded the challenge pennant “The best rescue military unit of the EMERCOM of Russia.”
