In the garrison House of Officers in Baltiysk, the premiere screening of the domestic action-packed feature film “The Red Ghost” about the first months of the Great Patriotic War took place. The first to appreciate the new film directed by Andrei Bogatyrev were the servicemen of the Marine Corps, crews of ships and units of the Baltic Naval Base, as well as residents of the city of Baltiysk.
After the Baltic premiere, right in the hall of the House of Officers, a dialogue took place between Andrey Bogatyryov, the actors who played the main roles, and the participants in the viewing, during which the creative team answered numerous questions from the audience.
According to the director, the film was shot using a large number of vivid memories of the war of veterans; it was they who inspired the director and members of his creative team to shoot a new film on this more than complex and responsible topic.
He also noted that it was important for everyone who made this film to show living characters, partly copied from veterans, and to show an immortal image as a Red Ghost: one Red Ghost may die, but another will take its place. According to Andrei Bogatyrev, this is one of the most important images of the war, during which the Soviet people accomplished the impossible. We won with titanic efforts and huge sacrifices precisely because the war was the Great Patriotic War, it was fought at all possible levels. In the USSR, not only the Red Army fought, but the entire people.
The Red Ghost is an unknown soldier, a people’s avenger with a sniper rifle, terrifying the German rear. A loner who came to the aid of a group of Soviet soldiers forced to engage in battle with the superior forces of the Germans. He dies in battle, but at the end of the tape he goes back to the “warpath”. He just has a different face – the face of one of the soldiers of the rescued squad. He is not a person, but a spirit of vengeance for the burnt villages, the hanged, the executed, the compatriots who died of hunger and cold.
In addition to Baltiysk, servicemen of the army corps of the Baltic Fleet in the town of Gusev watched a new picture of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
