Specialists of the communications and electronic warfare (EW) unit of the motorized rifle unit of the Amur combined-arms formation of the Eastern Military District (VVO) stationed in the Amur Region, the Jewish Autonomy and the Khabarovsk Territory conducted a training on covert command and control of troops and protection from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

According to the plan of the training, the conditional enemy proceeded to active actions. Using UAVs and electronic warfare means, he is trying to open the command and control system of our troops.

To accomplish this task, military communications specialists deployed mobile command posts. Also, to confuse the reconnaissance of the conditional enemy, several false points were deployed.

Under the conditions of the continuous influence of the electronic reconnaissance means of the imaginary enemy, the signalmen of the formation organized a highly secure communication network, carried out electronic data exchange during the organization of continuous control of the units of the formation, and also periodically performed covert movement of field communication centers. The training was carried out using the latest digital radio and radio relay stations, communication systems “Azart”, “Aqueduct”.

In addition, during the movement and occupation of new positions, the specialists of the units performed elements of camouflage and equipment for the shelters of stations, command and staff vehicles, antennas and cable communication lines, taking into account the terrain conditions and using both standard camouflage means and improvised materials.

During the training, the standards for the protection of radio communication channels from the influence of a simulated enemy UAV in an area with a radius of about 20 km were worked out.

The setting of radio interference during the training, as well as the quality control of the camouflage of the units, was carried out using the Eleron unmanned aerial vehicle, which allows observing targets in both visible and infrared light.

In total, about 500 servicemen took part in the training and more than 150 pieces of equipment were involved.
