Servicemen of the medical units of the Russian military base of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in Abkhazia conducted a special exercise at the Nagualou training ground as part of the month of tactical medicine.

The medics completed the tasks of receiving and sorting the conditionally wounded, provided medical assistance in the field and in a combined arms battle. Also, the personnel fulfilled more than 10 standards for the deployment of field medical units, worked out the evacuation of the wounded from combat vehicles.

The servicemen used various modern means of medical assistance, incl. immobilizing vacuum mattress “Cocoon”, defibrillator DFR-02, device for monitoring vital activity parameters of patients of the MPR “Triton”.

“The main goal of the exercise was to improve the skills of using complete-standard equipment and special equipment of the medical service, to perform tasks as intended in the field,” explained the head of the medical service of the military base, Captain Anton Yudin.

In total, over 1 thousand servicemen of the Southern Military District took part in the exercise, about 150 units of special military equipment were involved, incl. medical ambulances based on UAZ and GAZelle vehicles.
