In the course of fulfilling the tasks for the reconstruction of the Baikal-Amur Railway (BAM), it is planned to attract up to 180 students of the military training center at the Far Eastern State University of Railways (the city of Khabarovsk) in the military registration specialties of the railway troops in July-August 2021. ” Students will be accommodated in block-modular camps erected by military personnel on the Eastern section of the BAM.

During the training camp, students will receive practice in performing activities for assembling a rail and sleeper lattice, building culverts, filling temporary highways and equipping a subgrade, removing cable communication lines, as well as telemechanics and communications on railways.

Today, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov, is inspecting the preparations for the reconstruction of the BAM.

In April, the Russian Ministry of Defense began construction of the second track of the Baikal-Amur Railway on the 340-kilometer section from Ulak to Fevralsk. Ten brigades of railway troops will be involved in the work.

BAM is a railway in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, the second main (along with the Trans-Siberian Railway) railway access of Russia to the Pacific Ocean. Connects Taishet and Sovetskaya Gavan. The development program of the Eastern polygon is designed for the period 2013–2024.
