The final taekwondo competition of the Russian Youth Spartakiad has started in Kazan. Privates of the CSKA sports company, Samara took two steps of the podium: Alexei Karataev won bronze, Emil Aliyev won silver.

The sports complex “Ak Bars Arena” brought together 250 participants from 41 regions of the country. Competitions in the weight category up to 80 kg were held on the first day of the Spartakiad. Eight taekwondo fighters met at dayang, two of them – servicemen of the CSKA sports company, Samara – Emil Aliev (Tatarstan) and Alexey Karataev (Altai Territory). As a result, the victory went to Yaroslav Petrenko, the second place went to Emil Aliyev, the third place was shared by Aleksey Karataev and Aleksey Karimov.

“We have already fought with Yaroslav Petrenko, and judging by the way Yaroslav fought, he was preparing specifically for a meeting with me,” Emil Aliyev told the press center of the Samara branch of CSKA. “Ahead are two training camps with the Russian national team and a trip to Estonia in August for the European Taekwondo Championship.”

Aliyev received a ticket to the European Dayang, having won the Russian Championship-2021 in Anapa. Emil Aliyev’s coach is Sergei Titkin. “The performance at the Spartakiad gave an opportunity to spar with strong opponents, which are so lacking during epidemiological restrictions,” says Aleksey Karataev. “Now I am preparing for the championship of the Siberian Federal District: I am determined to get a ticket to the Russian championship, which will be held in August.”
