Coordination in international affairs is effectively carried out.

The leaders of our countries have repeatedly met “on the sidelines” of the APEC and G20 summits. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin made an official visit to Indonesia in 2007. In 2006, President of the Republic of Indonesia S.B. Yudhoyono, in 2016 – G. Vidodo (Sochi).

Laos is a longtime friend of Russia in Southeast Asia. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the adoption of the bilateral Declaration on Strategic Partnership in the Asia-Pacific Region. Russian-Laotian ties are distinguished by a high level of mutual trust and constructive interaction in all areas.

Trade and economic cooperation is progressively expanding: joint projects are being successfully implemented in the fields of hydropower, mining, and the production of secure printed products. A dense humanitarian exchange has been established: annually about 100 Lao students come to Russia with the aim of obtaining higher education.

During the upcoming meetings, it is planned to discuss the state and prospects of bilateral relations, primarily in the context of the implementation of the agreements reached at the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Laos T. Sisulite on the sidelines of the East Asian summit in November 2018 and during the conversation heads of government of the two countries in November 2019, as well as coordination of efforts at international platforms.
