The Innoprom International Industrial Exhibition will be held from 5 to 8 July in Yekaterinburg for the 11th time. About 12 thousand Russian and international participants will gather to share their experience in an applied business format and discuss flexible adaptation of the industry in the context of the crisis caused by the pandemic.

According to the organizers, the exhibition will be attended by about 450 foreign guests from Germany, Great Britain, Japan, India, Canada, Thailand, South Africa, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus and other countries. The largest will be brought by the partner of the exhibition – Italy, headed by the Minister of Economic Development of the country Giancarlo Giogetti. A large Hungarian delegation is also expected, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Peter Siyjarto. In addition, the exhibition will feature both Russian and European, Asian industrial giants, as well as medium-sized companies.

Main program

Within the framework of the Innoprom business program, more than 150 events are planned, which will be devoted to labor productivity, digital production, educational solutions for industry, technologies for cities and other topics. The main thematic tracks of the business program of the exhibition will be the following: “Digital Manufacturing”, “Innovations for Industry”, “Financial and Industrial Forum”, “Technologies for Cities”, “PROFI: Educational Solutions for Industry”. For business, such an exhibition is an opportunity both to find out what innovations are planned in industrial policy and to discuss them with industry captains, including those from other countries.

The main strategic session “Flexible Manufacturing: Maximum Adaptation” will be attended by the leaders of the Russian government and top officials of the world’s largest companies. Its main topic for discussion will be the use of flexible production strategies and effective tools for maximizing production adaptation to various tasks under conditions of uncertainty.

In addition to automation and digitalization, traditional in the industrial agenda, the exhibition will host events on the “green” economy and environmental regulation. At them, representatives of government and business will discuss whether additional incentives and support measures are needed now for the development of green industry. Who will have to leave the market? How is the Russian industry preparing for the existing challenges? Is the infrastructure and people’s minds ready for the next technological turn? Can Russia lead the ESG agenda? What technologies and resources will help the country attract key trading partners?

Drones and robots

In parallel, the 53rd International Symposium on Robotics, the most authoritative event in the field of industrial and service robotics, which has been held since 1970 by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), will be held for the first time in Russia at the Innoprom site. Within the framework of the symposium, there will be sessions devoted to global trends in the development of robotics, practical sessions on accelerating the robotization of the Russian industry, futurological seminars on robotization of all aspects of human life.

The exhibitors may be able to find an answer to the question why, given the world average level of robotization of 113 robots per 10 thousand workers, in Russia – only 6. But at the same time, Russian developers and programmers are considered highly qualified specialists and are widely in demand abroad. Does Russia need a strategy for the development of robotics in an environment where robots are needed not only in industry, but also in logistics, medicine and the service sector?

Partner country

The largest national exposition with an area of 3 thousand square meters. m. will be shown by the partner country of the exhibition Italy. In particular, the international energy group Enel, car tire manufacturer Pirelli and other companies from the aerospace industry, transport engineering, foundry, metalworking and innovative start-ups will be represented. Signing of landmark agreements between companies and development institutions of Russia and Italy is also expected. This country has become one of the few that has managed not to reduce trade with Russia during the coronavirus pandemic and keep it at $ 20 billion in 2020.

Prospects for economic relations between Italy and Russia, as recently noted by the Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terracciano, are not only in the sale of products, but also in the development of joint ventures. And one of the most important areas, he said, is decarbonization in industry.

In addition, a week of Italian culture will be held in Yekaterinburg, the central event of which will be a concert at the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic with the participation of conductor Fabio Mastrangelo and Italian singers.
