The servicemen of the reconnaissance units of the marines and the army corps of the Baltic fleet have worked out airborne landing in the water area of ​​the Baltic sea. Jumps from a mi-8 naval aviation helicopter into the water were carried out at various heights with parachutes.

Taking into account the specifics of the units, servicemen are parachuted in sea areas in wetsuits, diving equipment and on a special parachute system.

Only military personnel with extensive experience in parachute jumps with various types of parachute systems are allowed to perform such jumps. To prevent injury to personnel when jumping into the water, rescue equipment is used on the equipment of reconnaissance units, and rescue teams on diving and high-speed boats are on duty in places of splashdown.

The program of the military intelligence units also includes jumps to limited areas, jumps in adverse weather conditions and at night, jumps on reservoirs, jumps with a delay in opening the main parachute.
