A planned special exercise on the use of military police in the event of a threat to Russia’s military security in the Arctic direction took place in the Northern Fleet. It took place over three days on the territory of three constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions and the Komi Republic.

More than 400 servicemen and about 150 units of military police equipment, as well as individual formations and military units of the Northern Fleet, were involved in the exercise.

In accordance with the goals and objectives of the exercise, the military police of the Northern Fleet carried out the transfer of their units to the highest degree of combat readiness, in various conditions they worked out the search and detention of deserters, escorting detained servicemen, escorting automobile convoys and sea transport, searching for and eliminating sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a conditional enemy.

During the exercise, the tasks of transporting military police forces by sea, air and rail at various distances were solved.

Servicemen of the naval military police worked out the procedure for examining an unknown vessel that entered the protected water area.

In the course of maintaining law and order and military discipline in a conditional area at a military training ground in the Pechenga district of the Murmansk region, the combined detachment of the military police marched to its destination from the formation area in the village of Shchukozero, overcoming more than 200 kilometers.

The conducted exercise confirmed the readiness of the bodies and units of the military police of the Northern Fleet to carry out the assigned tasks according to their main purpose.
