In Dagestan, a planned camp gathering of missile troops and artillery of the Caspian Flotilla marines has been completed.

Within 30 days, the artillerymen performed over 100 different fire missions using 122-mm D-30 howitzers, Kornet anti-tank missile systems and 2S12 Sani 120-mm mortar systems. In addition to live firing, crews and combat crews worked out actions on the march, fulfilled the standards for the deployment and occupation of firing positions, their engineering equipment and camouflage.

The purpose of the gathering was the gradual coordination of artillery and missile units of the Caspian Flotilla marines, improving the combat training of personnel, increasing the practical skills and abilities of commanders in controlling artillery fire during defensive and offensive combat.

Also, artillery units carried out fire missions to defeat the objects of a simulated enemy at a distance of 2 to 15 km both with direct fire and from closed firing positions, including using unmanned aerial vehicles. More than half of the combat training activities were carried out at night. In just a month, while performing fire missions at the training range, the artillerymen used up about 1,000 artillery shells, mines and other various ammunition.

At the final stage of the assembly, a tactical exercise was held with live fire from howitzer guns, anti-tank systems and mortars. During the training, the level of field training of the personnel, the coherence of their actions and the ability of the commanders to control subordinates in the conditions of modern combined arms combat were checked.

More than 500 flotilla servicemen took part in the combat training events at the Adanak mountain range, over 100 units of weapons, military and special equipment of the coastal troops’ artillery units were involved.
