In the Volga interspecific regional training center for junior specialists of engineering troops, stationed in the territory of the Southern Military District (YuVO), more than 100 military divers began training. Military personnel will be trained in various rescue and evacuation, engineering and technical, special and engineering and reconnaissance diving operations at a depth of up to 20 m.

Before diving into open reservoirs, divers will fulfill the standards in specially equipped pools, where they will learn how to control the oxygen supply, navigate in the water in conditions of limited visibility, give signals with gestures and using underwater lights when working in groups. During the training period, divers will spend up to 20 training hours under water.

Upon completion of a three-month course of special training, divers will be able to independently examine the bottom of an open reservoir for the presence of explosive devices with their subsequent extraction to the surface, clear the river bed, and also act as part of rescue teams when transporting tanks under water.
