At the main base of the Northern Fleet, Severomorsk, a meeting took place of the training ship “Smolny”, on which cadets of naval universities and general educational institutions of the Russian Navy undergo naval practice.

This time, St. Petersburg and Murmansk Nakhimovites took part in the inter-fleet passage from the Baltic to the Barents Sea, as well as more than 200 cadets of the Naval Polytechnic Institute of the All-Union Scientific Center of the Navy under the leadership of the head of the institute, Captain 1st Rank Andrei Klimenko, who in the recent past commanded a large anti-submarine ships of the Northern Fleet.

At the pier in Severomorsk, the training ship was met by officers of surface ships and the parents of the Nakhimovites. The Smolny MC was moored to the accompaniment of the Northern Fleet military orchestra. After installing the gangway, the head of the fleet combat training department, Captain 1st Rank Pavel Shulga, boarded the ship and received the report of the commander on the successful completion of the tasks of the inter-fleet transition.

Smolny Management Company will stay in Severomorsk for several days. After replenishing supplies and changing trainees, the ship will continue its training voyage, first to the Baltic, and then to the Mediterranean and Black Seas. Several hundred cadets of the Peter the Great Naval Institute and other naval universities, as well as Nakhimovites from St. Petersburg and Sevastopol, will practice on board.
