Within the framework of airborne training, about 900 servicemen of the Ivanovo Guards airborne formation of the formation were parachuted to the landing sites of Yasyunikha and Budikhino in the Ivanovo and Kostroma regions.
Early in the morning, the personnel made about 700 jumps from An-2 aircraft. The landing was carried out from an altitude of 600 meters, at an aircraft flight speed of about 180 km / h and a paratrooper separation interval of 3 seconds.
Taking off from the Ivanovo-Severny airfield, the personnel landed on the Yasyunikha landing site in the Ivanovo region, where, after collecting as part of the units, they made a 15-kilometer march in a combined way, on foot and in an automobile convoy, to the airfield, where, after loading in two military transport aircraft Il-76md, made more than 200 parachute jumps.
About half an hour after takeoff, the planes entered a combat course over the landing area, where they parachuted more than 200 Ivanovo paratroopers on D-10 parachute systems.
The landing was carried out in two passes, 50 people each, from an altitude of 600 meters, the speed of the aircraft during paratroopers’ detachment was more than 360 km / h, with a separation interval of 0.7 seconds.
During the landing from Il-76md aircraft, about 100 female servicemen made their first parachute jump from heavy military transport aircraft.
After landing, the personnel carried out a gathering at the landing site and worked out tactical tasks to capture objects of a simulated enemy.
The D-10 parachute system is the main one in the Airborne Forces and allows airborne personnel in equipment, with weapons and equipment, with a total weight of more than 140 kilograms.
Summing up the landing results, the deputy commander of the Ivanovo Guards airborne unit for airborne training of the guard, Colonel Alexander Veremey, noted the competent and well-coordinated actions of the paratroopers in the air and during landing, as well as the correct operation of the material part of the parachute systems, which made it possible to fulfill the task facing the paratroopers.
