Pupils of the Kyokushin karate section of the Kaliningrad United Sports and Technical School DOSAAF returned home with medals.

They won medals in Varna, Bulgaria, where 450 athletes from 25 countries competed for the KWU Kyokushin World Cup awards in three age categories – among boys and girls, juniors and juniors, as well as youth.

Candidates for master of sports Yegor Vakarchuk and Alexander Kravtsov distinguished themselves. Among juniors aged 16-17, Yegor Vakarchuk has replenished his rich collection of sports trophies, becoming the owner of “gold” in the weight category up to 55 kg. Alexander Kravtsov won a silver medal among youths 14-15 years old in the weight over 65 kg.

According to the coach of the guys Mikhail Polyukhovich, Yegor Vakarchuk had four fights, defeating rivals from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tunisia on the way to victory, and in the final – an athlete from Bulgaria, and this was a unanimous decision of the judges. Aleksandr Kravtsov stepped onto the tatami five times, defeating athletes from Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Norway, and only in the final lost to a compatriot from Perm (but here the opinions of the judges were divided).
