The supervisory authorities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia control 9 thousand settlements, one and a half thousand children’s health camps, as well as 5 thousand garden partnerships that are subject to the threat of forest fires.

Every day, fire inspectors, together with representatives of municipalities, conduct preventive raids, during which they explain to citizens the basic rules for making open fires in the areas. Any source of open fire from the building should be separated by a distance of 50 meters. The distance can be halved if the fire is lit in a barrel. For violation of these requirements, summer residents face a fine of two to three thousand rubles.

So, for six months, the supervisory authorities of the department carried out almost 67 thousand interdepartmental raids and 51 thousand operational visits when reporting the burning of dry grass, more than 38 thousand uncontrolled burns of dry vegetation were also found.

733 local self-government bodies, 2.5 thousand officials and over 460 legal entities, as well as almost 19 thousand citizens were brought to administrative responsibility for the violations committed.

Since March of this year alone, violations of the established requirements in the field of implementation of fire safety measures have been identified in 3.4 thousand settlements, 224 garden associations and 196 children’s health institutions. For this, more than 580 local self-government bodies, 1.6 thousand officials and over 319 legal entities have been brought to administrative responsibility.

EMERCOM of Russia reminds that the firing of open fire is prohibited in a special fire-fighting regime, while the amount of the fine increases.

EMERCOM of Russia calls on citizens to comply with fire safety rules. When burning branches and debris, it is necessary to clear the area near the fireplace from dead wood and combustible materials. Stock up on a bucket of water or a fire extinguisher: they should be close at hand. Make sure the barrel is intact and cover it with a sheet of iron when burning branches and debris.
