On July 14, under the leadership of the head of the EMERCOM of Russia, Evgeny Zinichev, a meeting of the permanent working group of the Government Commission for the prevention and elimination of emergencies and fire safety was held. The participants discussed the emerging fire hazard situation in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov, the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev.

As noted by E. Zinichev, as of 06:00 today, 316 forest fires continue to operate in Yakutia, a decrease by 9 fires occurred per day. In total, 1047 forest fires have been registered on the territory of the republic since the beginning of the forest fire season. 2289 people and 329 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing.

The main efforts of the forces and means of the RSChS are aimed at protecting populated areas from fire. Thanks to prompt actions, it was possible to defend and prevent the passage of fire on the territory of 10 settlements. Currently, there are no threats, 3 settlements remain under control. A difficult situation persists in 11 districts.

During the day, work was carried out to lay and expand the mineralized strips along three settlements, extinguish individual foci along the perimeter of the fires. Continuous monitoring and laboratory control of atmospheric air in settlements is carried out.

The situation is being monitored with the involvement of 14 aircraft. Within 1.5 months, the aviation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia made 775 discharges with a volume of about 4.1 thousand tons of water. Four aircraft of the Ministry of Defense were also involved. The work of patrol and patrol-control groups has been organized in the region. Based on the results of their work, 386 reports on administrative offenses were drawn up.

The safety of populated areas depends on the correct prioritization and regrouping of forces and equipment, “the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry emphasized.

As of July 14, the forest fire situation will remain difficult in other regions as well. For example, in Kamchatka, Perm and Magadan regions, natural fires are being extinguished. There are no threats to settlements and economic facilities. Interdepartmental interaction has been organized, the situation on the ground and from the air is being monitored. The smell of burning and smoke is not observed.

Continuous monitoring of the forest fire situation is carried out throughout the Russian Federation. Over 6 thousand people and more than one thousand pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing fires during the day, incl. 46 aircraft.
