This year 12 people became laureates of the award.
Sergei Sobyanin presented awards of the city of Moscow in the field of architecture and urban planning. Up to five prizes are awarded annually in the amount of one million rubles. 12 people became laureates in 2021.
“I am glad that, despite all the difficulties of the pandemic affecting the economy, the construction complex is expanding its work and fulfilling its plans, overfulfilling them. For six months, the volume of real estate commissioning amounted to 77 percent of the annual plan. Considering that we have a lot of plans, this is a lot. We completed almost 80 percent of the annual plan in six months. Such dynamics have not yet been seen in all previous years. This suggests that the potential that the construction industry has accumulated is very powerful, stable and dynamic, ”said the Moscow Mayor.
In recent years, 90 million square meters of real estate have been commissioned in the city, including residential buildings, kindergartens, schools, transport and commercial facilities, and industrial enterprises. “Moreover, we always look at the balance so that housing and objects of employment are related to each other, social and cultural facilities appear in places of complex development,” Sergei Sobyanin said.
In addition, the city has completely switched to the use of modern materials, new panel houses are not much different from monolithic housing in terms of architectural and other possibilities. This is especially important because the social, transport and sports facilities being built today will last for decades, if not centuries.
“We love Moscow for its unique architectural appearance – old streets, squares, unique objects. All this creates its own unique environment. And we are responsible for what we give our descendants, what kind of city we will create. With such a scale of construction, Moscow will definitely change, ”the Moscow Mayor said.
He thanked the architects and builders for their talent and the skill they put into their work.
