On July 13, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk paid a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan (Baku).

During the visit, Aleksey Overchuk was received by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, with whom he discussed issues of strengthening bilateral trade and economic interaction, including cooperation in the field of transport, agriculture and other spheres.

With the aim of developing economic ties, issues of organizing a Russian business mission to the Republic of Azerbaijan were discussed. Particular interest is shown in cooperation in the field of renewable energy, ecology, water resources use, construction and development of transport infrastructure.

Prospects for the development of the North-South international transport corridor and the improvement of the work of border checkpoints on the Russian-Azerbaijani border were considered.

They also touched upon issues related to the activities of the trilateral Working Group under the joint chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
